Collien Ulmen-Fernandes

Collien Monica Fernandes, previously known as Collien Ulmen-Fernandes, is a German television presenter, video jockey, and actress. Born on September 26, 1981, in Hamburg, she grew up alongside her younger sister in Schenefeld. She was born to an Indian father of Portuguese and Indian descent and a Hungarian German mother. At the age of 15, she left home to pursue a career in modeling. Interested in music and performance, she sang with the group Yam Yam and undertook training at dance schools located in Hamburg and London.

Fernandes began her work in the entertainment industry as a background dancer in music videos for prominent artists, including Enrique Iglesias and the band Modern Talking. Her appearances caught the attention of music producers, leading to a record contract with BMG. She transitioned into television presenting in 2000, hosting various programs before becoming the new presenter for Bravo TV on RTL2 in the autumn of 2001. During this period, she also made guest appearances on television shows such as The Dome and TV total.

Starting in 2003, Fernandes expanded her presenting duties across television networks, hosting shows on the music channel VIVA as well as DSF's Maxim TV. Her film career launched in February 2004 with her debut role in A2 Racer, followed by an appearance in Night of the Living Dorks later that year. In 2007, she starred in the feature films Ossi's Eleven and Instructor Schmidt, playing the leading female role in the latter. That same year, she and the cast of the Sat.1 series Dr. Molly & Karl were nominated for an Adolf Grimme Award.

She continued her acting and television work in 2009 by starring in the RTL show Alarm for Cobra 11 – The Highway Police and becoming the presenter of the ProSieben series MyVideoStar in June 2009. In September 2009, while attending the Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin, she was ejected from a press conference following a controversial question posed to musician Lady Gaga regarding her anatomy.

Throughout her career, Fernandes has maintained a modeling portfolio, working with companies such as Otto, Neckermann, and BeeDees, while also appearing in television commercials for Mercedes-Benz and Ferrero's Kinder Bueno. Readers of the German edition of Maxim voted her Woman of the Year in 2003 and 2006, and she appeared in international editions of Maxim across Russia, Spain, Ukraine, and the United States. In 2010, she was elected Sexiest Woman in the World by the readers of German FHM magazine.

Fernandes met actor Christian Ulmen in August 2010, and the couple married on June 22, 2011, later giving birth to a daughter in April 2012. The family relocated from Potsdam to Mallorca in 2023. Following their separation announcement in September 2025 and divorce in March 2026, she resumed appearing publicly under the name Collien Monica Fernandes. In March 2026, Der Spiegel reported that she had filed legal complaints against Ulmen in Palma alleging identity theft, defamation, and assault related to fake digital content, prompting legal responses from Ulmen's counsel and commentary from Federal Minister of Justice Stefanie Hubig regarding digital violence laws.
