Bastian Pastewka

Bastian Pastewka is a German actor and comedian who is widely recognized for his work in television comedy and film. Born on April 4, 1972, he gained initial national prominence while based in Bochum through his work on German television.

His major breakthrough occurred around 1996 when he became a regular cast member on the comedy program Die Wochenshow (The Weekly Show), a mock news series. During his time on the show, he established a reputation for playing quirky, off-beat characters. Among his most prominent portrayals were the queer sex talk show host Brisko Schneider and Ottmar Zittlau, an unemployed, sweatsuit-wearing character.

Following his success on television, Pastewka transitioned into film and expanded his acting career. He starred in several popular German comedy films, most notably the 1960s Edgar Wallace crime drama spoofs Der Wixxer in 2004 and its sequel Neues vom Wixxer in 2007. In addition to live-action performances, he has established a career as a voice-over actor for animated films, including work on the movie Madagascar.

In September 2005, Pastewka began playing a fictionalized version of himself in the sitcom Pastewka, which aired on the German television channel Sat.1. His later television appearances include participating in the second season of the Amazon Prime show LOL Deutschland, where he finished as the runner-up.

Over the course of his career, Pastewka has earned significant industry recognition and several highly prestigious awards. His accolades include the Goldene Kamera, the Deutscher Fernsehpreis (German Television Award), and the Rose d'Or.

Outside of his acting work, Pastewka divides his time between Berlin-Charlottenburg, where he lives with his girlfriend Heidrun Buchmaier, and Cologne, where he resides while working.
