Baga Chipz

Baga Chipz is the stage name of Mark Botfield, an English drag performer who rose to international prominence after competing on the inaugural series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK in 2019. Known for comedy and impersonations, the entertainer has since established a career spanning reality television, acting, web series, and music.

Early in her drag career, Baga Chipz became a member of "The Buffalo Girls," a performance group alongside fellow performers Lady Lloyd and Silver Summers. Her television appearances began in 2014 when she was featured in Drag Queens of London, a documentary series that captured the personal and professional lives of several local performers over a three-month span.

Her mainstream breakthrough occurred in August 2019 upon her reveal as one of ten contestants on the first series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK. She won three separate main challenges throughout the season and ultimately finished in third place. Following the show's broadcast, she joined her fellow cast members on a late-2019 tour hosted by Alyssa Edwards and participated in the inaugural RuPaul's DragCon UK event in January 2020.

Leveraging her success from the competition, Baga Chipz embarked on several broadcast and web projects. In December 2019, she co-starred with fellow contestant The Vivienne in Morning T&T for WOW Presents Plus, expanding on her Snatch Game impersonation of Margaret Thatcher alongside Donald Trump in a fictional news format. In March 2020, the duo teamed up again to host the UK edition of Netflix's web series I Like to Watch, reviewing various titles for the platform. She also gained recognition for her impression of Amy Winehouse.

Expand into broader media followed in mid-2020 when she participated in the competition show Celebrity Masterchef, departing the series in July. That autumn, she released her first musical single, "When The Sun Goes Down," featuring Saara Aalto, and joined the cast of ITV's Celebrity Karaoke Club. Expanding into scripted drama, she was cast in 2021 for a role in the fifth series of Channel 4's school drama Ackley Bridge, which aired in 2022.

Baga Chipz made her return to the Drag Race franchise in 2022 as a contestant on RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs. the World. During the international series, she secured a top-two placement in the fourth episode for her Snatch Game portrayal of Kathy Bates playing Annie Wilkes. She advanced to the finale, where she was eliminated in the first round of the crown tournament after a lip-sync against Mo Heart, ultimately finishing the competition tied for third place alongside Jujubee.
