Yumna Zaidi

Yumna Zaidi is a Pakistani actress who works primarily in Urdu television. She is widely known for her roles in social and romantic drama series. Over the course of her career, Zaidi has earned critical praise and received seven Lux Style Awards and two Hum Awards, holding the record as the actress with the most Lux Style Award wins.

Zaidi made her screen debut in 2012 with a supporting role in ARY Digital's domestic drama Thakan. That same year, she landed a leading role in the melodrama Khushi Ek Roag and portrayed the character Maryam in Urdu 1's drama series Teri Raah Main Rul Gai opposite Samiya Mumtaz and Sami Khan.

In 2013, Zaidi expanded her career by portraying emotionally intense characters in Geo TV's Meri Dulari and Hum TV's revenge-themed drama Ullu Baraye Farokht Nahi, which earned her a nomination for the Hum Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her role as a troubled wife in Farooq Rind's tragic romance Rishtay Kuch Adhooray Se established her as a leading television actress in Pakistan and brought her nominations for the Hum Award for Best Actress and Best Actress Popular. During 2013, she also made a special appearance in Sannata and played a supporting role in Kashif Nisar's Kis Se Kahoon alongside Sajal Ali and Agha Ali.

Zaidi gained broader recognition through diverse television roles in Mausam (2014), Madawa (2015), Guzaarish (2015), Jugnoo (2015), Kaanch Ki Guriya (2015), Paras (2015), and Aap ki Kaneez (2015), earning multiple Best Actress nominations. In 2016, she starred as Uzma Ikhtiar in Momina Duraid's Zara Yaad Kar alongside Zahid Ahmed and Sana Javed. The following year, she starred opposite Ahmed Ali in Hum TV's Yeh Raha Dil, playing the character Hayat, which garnered a nomination for Best On-screen Couple at the Hum Awards.

Zaidi established herself critically with her portrayal of Sila, a victim of sexual harassment, in Bee Gul's Dar Si Jaati Hai Sila (2017). She subsequently signed Kashif Nisar's Pinjra, starred as Samra in Pukaar (2018–19), and appeared in 7th Sky Entertainment's Dil Kiya Karey. She portrayed Hajra in the social drama Inkaar (2019), made a special appearance in Choti Choti Batain, had an extended cameo in Ishq Zahe Naseeb, and played Raina in the telefilm Shaadi Impossible.

Her prominent television work continued with leading performances in Pyar Ke Sadqay (2020), Dil Na Umeed To Nahi (2021), and Bakhtawar (2022). Her roles in Inkaar, Pyar Ke Sadqay, and Bakhtawar each won her the Lux Style Award for Best Television Actress. In 2022, she achieved major recognition for her role in the drama series Tere Bin.

Zaidi made her feature film debut in 2024, starring as an aspiring cricketer in Umair Nasir Ali's film Nayab. Outside of dramatic screen acting, Zaidi writes Sufi poetry, which she recites on social media. She has walked the runway for designer Aisha Farid's Crystalline collection on Hum TV's Bridal Couture Week and appeared on the comedy talk show Mazaaq Raat in 2017.
