Veronica Scott

Veronica Scott, born November 19, 1986, is an American television personality, fashion designer, and entrepreneur. She is best known for her appearance in the Current TV reality show The Fuchsia Girls, which documents her personal and professional life as she pursues a career in the fashion industry. Scott is also the co-owner of the fashion company and design house Fuchsia, alongside her business partner Lawren Pope.

Scott was born in Dallas, Texas, to Johnnie Lee Scott, Jr. and Rebecca Scott. She is multiracial, of Hispanic and African American descent, and has a brother, Johnnie Lee Scott III, who is eight years younger than her. Scott attended River Oaks Elementary in Houston from kindergarten to the fifth grade. She later attended Westside High School, where she met Pope seven years after first expressing an interest in fashion at age six.

Scott began her college education at Houston Baptist University, majoring in international business for three quarters. She then relocated from Houston to San Diego and enrolled at the University of San Diego School of Business Administration. Scott's lack of formal art and design schooling caused some controversy among certain fashion industry seniors. In a 2008 interview with fashion editor Elizabeth Stein, Scott noted that she experienced snubs from industry members for not attending schools such as the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising or Parsons.

At age 14, Scott partnered with Pope to launch the fashion company Fuchsia. Six months after founding the business, the duo presented their initial collection of ready-to-wear cocktail attire during a self-produced runway show held in Spring, Texas.

To promote the brand, Scott designed and built the official website for Fuchsia and published video footage from their debut fashion show. This online release attracted coverage from local media journalists and generated much of the company's early income and public visibility. Scott preferred operating an online boutique over a physical store because it suited her schedule while attending college. She resides in San Diego with Pope.

In 2007, Scott co-founded Save The Girls, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supplies cash scholarships, scholarship education, and college application assistance to students, groups, and schools in need. She stepped into the role of chair for the organization in 2008.

Save The Girls also sponsors the Grace House, a transitional home for female graduates of the Internat Orphanage in Chișinău, Moldova. In July 2008, Scott completed a mission trip to Moldova with the non-profit organization Justice and Mercy. After visiting Grace House, Scott requested emergency aid funds from Save The Girls to improve living conditions at the facility and secured ongoing funding for the project. She also undertook the creation of a web shop allowing residents of Grace House to sell handmade clothing and jewelry to fund the home.
