Thomas Robert Daley (born 21 May 1994) is an English retired diver, YouTuber, and television personality. He is an Olympic champion in the men's synchronised 10-metre platform event at the 2020 Olympics and a four-time World Champion, including individual FINA 10-metre platform titles in 2009 and 2017. He is the first British diver to win five Olympic medals, having earned gold in 2020, silver in 2024, and bronze medals in 2012, 2016, and 2020. Over his career, Daley also became a two-time junior World Champion, a five-time European champion, and a four-time Commonwealth champion.

Daley was born in Plymouth, Devon, England, to Debbie and Robert Daley, and was raised alongside his two younger brothers, William and Ben. His father passed away from a brain tumour in May 2011. Daley began diving at the age of eight after seeing divers at a local pool, where his talent was identified by coach Andy Banks. He attended Eggbuckland Community College and Plymouth College, and he spoke publicly about experiencing school bullying while serving as a celebrity supporter for Childline. He completed his GCSEs and A-levels in mathematics, Spanish, and photography with top grades.

Daley joined a competitive squad in 2002 and won his first medal at the National Novice Championships in 2003. He progressed quickly through junior ranks, winning multiple British age-group titles. At age twelve, he received special dispensation to compete at the 2007 Australian Youth Olympic Festival, winning silver in the 10-metre synchro. In 2008, Daley became the youngest winner of the senior British 10-metre title and won gold at the European Championships in Eindhoven. He represented Great Britain at the 2008 Beijing Olympics as Britain's youngest competitor at age fourteen, placing seventh in the individual 10-metre platform and eighth in synchro.

In 2009, Daley achieved a career-best ranking of number one in the FINA World Aquatics Rankings and won his first individual world title in Rome at age fifteen. He went on to win two gold medals for England at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in the individual 10-metre platform and 10-metre synchro with Max Brick. In 2010, he received the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award for a third time. Daley earned his first Olympic medal at the 2012 London Games, taking bronze in the individual 10-metre platform.

Following the 2012 Olympics, television network ITV engaged Daley as a mentor on the celebrity diving reality show Splash!, which premiered in January 2013. He continued his international success, winning inaugural mixed team World titles in 2015 and 2024, as well as an Olympic synchro bronze in 2016 and an individual platform bronze in 2020. In 2023, Daley joined UCLA as an assistant diving coach.

At the 2024 Summer Olympics, Daley won a silver medal in the men's synchronised 10-metre platform. In August 2024, a day after the conclusion of the 2024 Olympics, Daley officially announced his retirement from professional diving.
