Tata Young

Amita Marie "Tata" Young, born Amita Marie Germania Young on December 14, 1980, is a Thai singer, actress, and model. She was born in Bangkok to a Thai mother and an American father, Tim Young, from Zanesville, Ohio. Young attended the Bangkok Patana School during her youth.

Young first gained national prominence in Thailand at the age of 11 after placing first in a national talent competition, the Nissan Awards Thailand Junior Singing Contest. Following her contest win, she signed a record deal and officially launched her music career with the release of her debut studio album, Amita Tata Young, in 1995.

Over the course of her career, Young has released nine studio albums, consisting of six in Thai and three in English. Her ninth and most recent studio album, Ready for Love, was released in 2009. Beyond her album releases, she performed the song "Reach for the Stars" at the Opening Ceremony of the 1998 Asian Games held in Bangkok. Throughout the 2000s, Young achieved widespread mainstream popularity across Southeast Asia, East Asia, and South Asia, earning multiple national and international awards. During this era, she was often referred to as "Asia's Queen of Pop" and the "Britney Spears of Asia."

In addition to her music career, Young has worked as an actress in both film and television. She made her feature film debut in 1997 starring in the youth drama The Red Bike Story (Jakkayan See Daeng). She subsequently appeared in two other screen projects: the film O-Negative and the television drama Plai Tien (Wick of the Candle).

Young has also supported humanitarian causes through voice work and public campaigns. She has lent her voice to the AIDS program operated by Father Joe Maier's Human Development Foundation, as well as MTV's Exit campaign, an initiative aimed at ending human trafficking.

In September 2011, Young made a comeback performance at the True Academy Fantasia Season 8 Grand Finale Concert. During the event, she premiered the song "Let's Play," which was intended as an upcoming single. The track was written and produced by Jeliah, with co-writing credits shared by Young and singer-songwriter VASSY.
