Sue Ramirez

Sue Anna Garina Dodd, known professionally as Sue Ramirez, is a Filipino actress born on July 20, 1996. She entered the entertainment industry in 2010 and gained early recognition through television dramas produced by ABS-CBN. Over her career, she has appeared in numerous television series, variety shows, and feature films.

Ramirez was born in Parañaque, Philippines, to Concepcion Garina, a Filipino from Sipalay, Negros Occidental, and James Peter Dodd, an American retired senior officer of the United States Department of State. The youngest of five siblings, she is the only child in her family with dual Filipino and American citizenship. She attended high school at Sacred Heart School in Parañaque. Her father died in 2013, and her mother died in 2026.

Her career began in 2010 when she auditioned for Star Magic with the song "Angels Brought Me Here" by Guy Sebastian, aiming to help pay for her father's medical expenses. She debuted on the teen variety show Shoutout! and secured her first major acting role in 2011 as Nicole Matias in the ABS-CBN remake of Mula sa Puso. That same year, she made her film debut in Aswang and took a supporting role in Angelito: Batang Ama, later reprising her role in its 2012 sequel. Also in 2012, she starred as Luna in the remake of !Oka Tokat alongside Paul Salas.

Between 2013 and 2015, Ramirez expanded her television credits. She portrayed Luisa "Louie" Celerez in Annaliza in 2013 and appeared in projects such as Dream Dad, Wansapanataym, All of Me, and several episodes of the anthology drama Maalaala Mo Kaya. She also won ₱100,000 on Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal in 2015. Ramirez gained further popularity playing Joy "Ligaya" Miranda in the second half of Pangako Sa 'Yo (2015). For her work in the 2015 film Just the Way You Are, she earned a nomination for New Movie Actress of the Year at the 32nd PMPC Star Awards for Movies.

In 2016, Ramirez joined the musical variety show ASAP, played Angel in Dolce Amore, and was named the Honorary Tourism Ambassador for Korea to the Philippines. Her projects in 2017 included appearances in My Dear Heart, the reality show I Can Do That, the series La Luna Sangre, the horror film The Debutantes, the drama series Hanggang Saan, and the film Meant to Beh: Ika-something na Utos.

Her subsequent projects include the films Ang Babaeng Allergic sa WiFi (2018) and Cuddle Weather (2019), as well as roles in FPJ's Ang Probinsyano, A Soldier's Heart (2020), The Broken Marriage Vow (2022), and The Iron Heart (2022). From October 2025 to April 2026, she played Mel Barrera-Montenegro in What Lies Beneath. In her personal life, Ramirez previously dated actor and dancer Joao Constancia from 2017 to 2019, and actor and politician Javi Benitez from 2019 to 2024. She is currently in a relationship with actor Dominic Roque.
