Rima Fakih

Rima Fakih Slaiby is a Lebanese-born American former professional wrestler, beauty pageant titleholder, philanthropist, and media personality. Born on September 22, 1985, in Srifa, Lebanon, she was raised in a Shia Muslim family before moving to the United States. She gained widespread public recognition after winning the Miss Michigan USA 2010 pageant, which earned her the right to represent her state at Miss USA 2010. She was crowned Miss USA on May 16, 2010, becoming the first Arab American woman and the third woman representing Michigan to earn the national title.

Fakih spent her early childhood in Lebanon, attending a Catholic school near Beirut before her family relocated to New York City in 1993 due to the Lebanese Civil War. Settling in Jackson Heights, Queens, she attended St. John's Preparatory School. In 2003, her family moved to Dearborn, Michigan. Fakih pursued higher education at Henry Ford Community College and later earned degrees in economics and business management from the University of Michigan–Dearborn. Prior to winning her national title, she worked in development and recruiting at the Detroit Medical Center.

Fakih began competing in pageantry at age 19, placing as fourth runner-up at Miss Wayne County and later second runner-up at the 2008 Miss Lebanon Emigrant pageant. After her Miss USA coronation, she represented the United States at the Miss Universe 2010 pageant in Las Vegas. In 2018, Fakih became the national director of the Miss Universe Lebanon Organization, successfully organizing the Miss Universe Lebanon 2018 competition.

Throughout her career, Fakih has engaged in professional wrestling and television ventures. During her reign as Miss USA, she appeared as a guest star on WWE Raw and served as a ring announcer at WWE Tribute to the Troops. She later competed on season five of the reality competition series WWE Tough Enough to train as a professional wrestler and later appeared at WrestleMania Axxess in 2012. Her additional media work includes a cameo appearance in the 2011 film Real Steel, participating in the dating show The Choice, and placing as runner-up on the reality design series The Apartment - Celebrity Edition in 2015.

Fakih is actively involved in philanthropic work and humanitarian advocacy. She serves on the board of directors for Best Buddies International and has been named an ambassador for both The Children's Cancer Center in Lebanon and School on Wheels. Following the 2020 Beirut explosion, Fakih and her husband co-founded the #GlobalAidForLebanon campaign with Global Citizen and the United Nations World Food Programme, raising over two million dollars. In April 2021, she joined the Board of Directors for World Food Program USA, serving as chairwoman of its communications committee.

Over the course of her public career, Fakih has received various honors, including receiving the key to the city of Dearborn in 2010 and being named to listings by AskMen.com and Arabian Business. In May 2016, she married music executive and talent manager Wassim Slaiby in Bkerké, Lebanon, following her conversion to the Maronite Church. Together, the couple has four children.
