Renata Soñé

Renata De Jesús Soñé Savery, born August 6, 1982, in New York City, is an American-born Dominican model, actress, and beauty pageant titleholder. She is best known for winning the Miss Dominican Republic 2005 pageant and subsequently placing as the second runner-up at Miss Universe 2005. Throughout her career, she has also worked as a commercial fashion model, media personality, entrepreneur, and screen actress.

Following her mother's death when Soñé was six months old, she was raised by her grandparents. Prior to entering beauty pageants, she pursued higher education and earned a degree in clinical psychology. Expressing a long-term career ambition to establish a children's institute, Soñé utilized her background to serve as a spokesperson for public awareness campaigns led by Dominican Attorney General Rossana Reyes, which aimed to address child neglect and reduce the number of abandoned children.

Before earning her national pageant title, Soñé worked as a professional model with Ossygeno Model Management, appearing in several Dominican fashion publications. Following her pageant success, she expanded her modeling work by becoming the official commercial face for major brands, including Pantene shampoo, Avon, and the Esbelle weight loss product.

On April 9, 2005, Soñé represented Distrito Nacional in the Miss Dominican Republic 2005 competition, securing the title and earning the right to represent her country internationally. At the Miss Universe 2005 pageant in Bangkok, Thailand, she finished third overall as the second runner-up, placing behind winner Natalie Glebova of Canada and Cynthia Olavarría of Puerto Rico, and ahead of Mónica Spear of Venezuela and Laura Elizondo of Mexico. She was later featured in the Miss Universe Organization's book, "Universal Beauty," as the contestant recognized for having the best body in the pageant's history.

Soñé made her screen acting debut in the 2006 Dominican feature film "Un Macho de Mujer," starring Venezuelan television host Daniel Sarcos. She went on to host the weekly television dating program "Cupido" in 2008, as well as the daily broadcast "Todo Bien" on Antena Latina. In radio, she hosted her own weekly Sunday program, "Renata Soñé por la 91," which featured music from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. She was also cast as detective Ximena Salba in the film thriller "Intercambio," a co-production by Virafilms and Alfa Films scheduled for spring 2011.

In 2006, Soñé entered the business sector by launching her own luxury line of eyeglasses, branded as Renata Soñé Eye Wear.

Soñé previously dated professional tennis player Jorge Dueñas. On June 14, 2006, she married businessman Eduardo Guerra Gutiérrez in Casa de Campo. The couple has two sons, Ignacio de Jesús, born in late 2006, and Rodrigo Antonio, born in October 2011.
