Patricia McPherson

Patricia McPherson is an American former actress and activist. She is best known for her role as Bonnie Barstow in the 1980s television series Knight Rider.

McPherson was born in Oak Harbor, Washington, in 1956 or 1957. The daughter of a naval officer, she later attended San Diego State University, where she graduated with a degree in advertising.

McPherson began her acting career and achieved widespread recognition for her work on Knight Rider, portraying Bonnie Barstow, the mechanic responsible for KITT. She was a main cast member during the show's first season but was absent throughout the second season. She subsequently returned to the series starting in the third-season opener.

Following her time on television, McPherson retired from acting in the early 1990s to focus on environmental activism. She turned her attention to the conservation of wildlife and forests.

Her environmental projects have included efforts to preserve the Ballona Wetlands in southern California. As part of these efforts, she worked with the Ballona Wetlands Trust to pursue legal action against the Playa Vista community regarding its failure to take action concerning methane.

In her personal life, McPherson is married to James Garrett.
