About Olivia

Olivia Theresa Longott, born February 15, 1981, is an American R&B singer. She is best known for her work with the hip hop group G-Unit and for her appearances as a cast member on the VH1 reality television series Love & Hip Hop: New York.

Longott was born in Brooklyn, New York. She is of mixed Indian, Jamaican, and Cuban descent.

Her music career officially began in 2000 when she became the first artist signed to Clive Davis' J Records. In 2001, she released her self-titled debut studio album, Olivia. The album debuted at number 55 on the Billboard 200 chart and featured the single "Bizounce," which reached number 15 on the charts, as well as the follow-up single "Are U Capable."

From 2004 to 2007, Olivia was signed to G-Unit. Her most recognized song during this era was "Candy Shop" alongside 50 Cent. While signed to the label, she also released the singles "So Sexy" and "Twist It," which featured Lloyd Banks. In 2007, it was announced that Olivia and G-Unit Records had parted ways. Her planned second studio album, Behind Closed Doors, was shelved following her departure, though it leaked on several mixtape websites a year later.

In 2009, Olivia was featured on the song "Chaise Électrique" by Congolese singer Fally Ipupa. She later released her first music video for the single "December" on April 12, 2011, which served as the lead track for her then-upcoming project Show the World. The single peaked at number 76 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart. In December 2011, she released her next single, "Walk Away." Around this time, she joined the cast of VH1's Love & Hip Hop.

After declining a record deal from EMI, Olivia signed with Jerry Wonda's label, Wonda Music, in April 2012. Under this deal, she released two promotional tracks: "Soldier Girl" featuring Mavado and "Sun Don't Shine" featuring Sean Kingston. In 2013, her single "Where Do I Go from Here?" reached the number 10 spot on the iTunes R&B/Soul charts. Following a seven-year hiatus, she made her return to Love & Hip Hop: New York for its tenth anniversary season.

Olivia released her second studio album, titled You Are, on September 1, 2024, marking her first album release in 23 years. The project included R&B tracks as well as previously released singles such as "Join Me" from 2019 and "No Permission" from 2022. The title track of the album was dedicated as a tribute to her mother, who passed away in 2018.
