Nick DiGiovanni

Nicholas Channing DiGiovanni is an American chef, author, entrepreneur, and digital creator known for his culinary videos across platforms such as YouTube and TikTok. Born on May 19, 1996, in Providence, Rhode Island, he was raised in a family of Italian, Persian, German, and British heritage. His father worked as an orthopaedic surgeon, while his mother was a teacher. DiGiovanni developed a passion for cooking during his youth by watching his grandmother and great-grandmother prepare family meals. He has three younger brothers, and his maternal grandfather was born in Iran.

DiGiovanni attended Milton Academy, graduating in 2015, before enrolling at Harvard University, where he resided in Quincy House. While pursuing his studies, he designed his own degree concentration focused on Food and Climate. During his senior year of college, he auditioned for the tenth season of the culinary competition television show MasterChef. He departed school mid-semester without informing his professors to participate in the filming, ultimately placing third overall in the competition. He earned his degree from Harvard in 2019.

Following his graduation and appearance on television, DiGiovanni began sharing cooking content on YouTube. He eventually returned to MasterChef in later seasons, serving as a mentor for finalists and returning as a guest judge and mentor during the show's fourteenth season in 2024. His digital presence expanded significantly, leading to high-profile industry partnerships and expansion into media and enterprise. In 2021, he established Osmo Salt under Osmo Kitchens, a direct-to-consumer brand providing specialized salts and kitchen devices such as electric grinders. His brand later engaged in commercial collaborations with companies including Four Roses, Chamberlain Coffee, and Carbone Fine Food.

In addition to short-form content and business ventures, DiGiovanni authored the 2023 cookbook Knife Drop: Creative Recipes Anyone Can Cook, which features a foreword written by chef Gordon Ramsay and includes recipes like yolky gnocchi and Smoky Mezcal Rigatoni. In July 2025, he partnered with MrBeast's chocolate company, Feastables, as an official brand representative. In July 2026, he finalized a comprehensive licensing contract with Netflix to distribute his YouTube library, launch synchronized releases of new channel content, and produce an exclusive food video podcast. He also entered voice acting, portraying Bartender Slick Di'Giguani in the animated film Zootopia 2 in November 2025.

Throughout his career, DiGiovanni has set multiple Guinness World Records, frequently collaborating with other online personalities and chefs. His achievements include constructing the largest cake pop and largest chicken nugget alongside Lynn Yamada Davis, visiting 69 fast food locations within 24 hours, beating Gordon Ramsay's record for filleting a ten-pound fish, making the world's largest sushi roll, creating the largest fortune cookie with Nigel Ng, organizing the largest single-day turkey donation, and making the world's largest Beef Wellington with Ramsay, Max the Meat Guy, Gustavo Tosta, and Ahmad Alzahabi.

DiGiovanni has also participated in charitable campaigns, joining the MrBeast-founded #TeamSeas initiative in 2021 to support ocean cleanup efforts and partnering with Chipotle in 2022 to donate twenty million pounds of food. His work has received several honors, including a Streamy Award for Food and inclusion on the Rhode Island 30 Under 30 list in 2021, a Webby Award in 2022, and a spot on Time magazine's inaugural TIME100 Creators list under the Titans category in July 2025.
