Nia Jax

Savelina Fanene, known professionally under the ring name Nia Jax, is an Australian-born professional wrestler performing for WWE on its SmackDown brand. Prior to her career in sports entertainment, she worked as a plus-size model. Signed to WWE in early 2014, she has achieved notable success in professional wrestling, winning multiple championships and tournaments throughout her tenure with the company.

Fanene was born on May 29, 1984, in Sydney, Australia, and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She is of German and Samoan descent and is the second cousin once removed of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as her father Joseph was the cousin of Johnson's grandfather Peter Maivia. She later lived in San Diego, California, where she attended Carlsbad High School. She played college basketball at Palomar College in San Marcos and graduated from Cal State San Marcos with a marketing degree in 2005.

After signing with WWE, Fanene was assigned to the developmental territory NXT, making her in-ring debut in May 2015 under the name Zada before adopting the name Nia Jax later that year. She competed in NXT until July 2016, when she was drafted to the main roster as part of the Raw brand. Following her debut on Raw, she engaged in feuds with competitors such as Alicia Fox and Sasha Banks, while also participating in major events including WrestleMania 33 and Survivor Series.

At WrestleMania 34 in April 2018, Jax defeated Alexa Bliss to capture the Raw Women's Championship, marking the first title win of her career. The following year, at the 2019 Royal Rumble, she became the first person to compete in two Royal Rumble matches on the same night by entering both the women's and men's matches. After missing time due to ACL surgery on both knees, she returned in 2020 and formed a tag team with Shayna Baszler. Together, they became two-time WWE Women's Tag Team Champions before Fanene was released from her contract in November 2021.

Jax returned to WWE full-time in September 2023 following a brief appearance earlier that year. In 2024, she was drafted to SmackDown and won the Queen of the Ring tournament, earning a title match at SummerSlam, where she defeated Bayley to win the WWE Women's Championship. She held the title for 153 days before losing it in January 2025. Following her title loss, Jax continued to compete on SmackDown in high-profile matches.
