Michael Reeves

Michael Reeves is an American YouTuber, Twitch streamer, and software engineer best known for creating chaotic, comedy-focused engineering and robotics projects. Born on November 20, 1997, in Maui, Hawaii, Reeves gained widespread internet fame by combining computer programming, electrical engineering, and deadpan satire. Over the years, he has built a massive online following through his inventive custom builds and engaging online streams, eventually joining the prominent Los Angeles-based content creator collective OfflineTV.

Early Life and Career Origins

Raised in Maui, Hawaii, Reeves developed an interest in programming during high school after teaching himself code. He briefly attended Northern Arizona University before leaving to work as a professional software contractor for local government and academic organizations. In 2017, he posted his first viral YouTube video, "The Robot That Shines a Laser in Your Eye," which quickly accumulated millions of views. The success of his early eccentric inventions—including a swearing Roomba and a taser-camera hybrid—convinced him to pursue full-time video production and move to Los Angeles, California in late 2018.

Content Creation and OfflineTV

In December 2019, Reeves officially joined OfflineTV, a high-profile collaborative house of digital creators. His YouTube channel features elaborate, humor-driven engineering endeavors, such as a modified Spot robot dog and an automated surgery machine. Despite posting videos infrequently due to the complex nature of his builds, his YouTube channel (@MichaelReeves) has attracted over 7.8 million subscribers. Additionally, Reeves streams live on Twitch under the handle michaelreeves, where he broadcasts gameplay, live coding sessions, and informal discussions with a fanbase of over 1.5 million followers.

Personal Life and Other Endeavors

Beyond software engineering and streaming, Reeves has engaged in high-profile internet events, including competing in Creator Clash, a charity influencer boxing tournament held in 2022. Since early 2020, Reeves has been in a relationship with fellow streamer, musician, and OfflineTV member Lily Ki, known online as LilyPichu. He remains based in Los Angeles, continuing to collaborate with online creators while building hardware and software projects.
