Born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she gained national attention after transitioning from a retail employee and architecture student into a top contestant on the reality television competition. Her victory propelled her into an international modeling career spanning high-fashion editorials, global advertising campaigns, and prominent runway presentations.

Waller grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she attended Ecole Dieppe, Charleswood Junior High, and Oak Park High School before enrolling at the University of Manitoba to study architecture. While working at a local retail boutique, she was scouted for the third season of Canada's Next Top Model.
