Luna Wedler

Luna Wedler is a Swiss actress born on October 26, 1999. She gained widespread popularity for starring in the Netflix techno-thriller series Biohackers. Over the course of her screen career, she has performed in numerous feature films and television projects produced in Europe and internationally.

Wedler grew up alongside two siblings in District 6 of Zürich, Switzerland. Between 2016 and 2018, she studied contemporary dance at the European Film Actor School located in Zürich.

Wedler made her acting debut in 2015 when she starred in the film Amateur Teens, directed by Niklaus Hilbers. She applied for her first movie role at fourteen years of age. Following her debut, she became fascinated by acting, particularly enjoying the challenge of portraying characters with dark sides.

At the age of seventeen, Wedler starred in the film Blue My Mind, portraying a character who moves to a new school and engages in an extreme lifestyle involving wild parties, drugs, and sex. She later noted that the psychologically demanding role required everything from her. She subsequently appeared in additional film projects, such as the 2018 movie The Most Beautiful Girl in the World, as well as television series like The Team.

In August 2020, Wedler starred in the lead role of the Netflix series Biohackers, depicting a character seeking revenge for the death of her twin brother. The show returned for a second season in July 2021. Between May 2021 and the spring of 2022, she portrayed White Rose activist Sophie Scholl in an Instagram project documenting Scholl's final year of life.

Wedler's later projects include starring in the 2023 Netflix television adaptation of Anthony Doerr's 2014 novel All the Light We Cannot See. For her performance in the 2025 film Silent Friend, Wedler received the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best New Young Actor or Actress at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival.
