Lindsey Vonn, born Lindsey Caroline Kildow on 18 October 1984 in Saint Paul, Minnesota, is an American alpine ski racer widely regarded as one of the greatest in the sport's history. Standing 5 ft 10 in (178 cm), she races for the United States and is known above all for her dominance in the speed disciplines of downhill and super-G.

Over a career spanning more than two decades, Lindsey Vonn won four World Cup overall championships (2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012) and amassed 83 World Cup race victories. She claimed the Olympic gold medal in downhill at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, the first ever earned by an American woman in that event. Her titles include eight World Cup downhill discipline titles, five super-G titles and three consecutive combined titles, and in 2016 she reached her 20th crystal globe. She was named the 2011 Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year. After an initial retirement, she returned to competition in November 2024, and in December 2025, at age 41, became the oldest skier to win a World Cup downhill.
