Lily McMenamy

Lily Camille McMenamy is an American-born English model and actress. She is best known for her work in high-fashion runway shows, major international advertising campaigns, and appearances in prominent global editorial publications.

McMenamy was born in Pennsylvania on April 3, 1994. Her mother is American model Kristen McMenamy, and her father was Hubert Boukobza, a Tunisian who owned the Paris nightclub Les Bains-Douches. As a baby, McMenamy appeared with her mother in a fashion spread for French Glamour and was carried down a Chanel runway by her mother. She grew up in London, England, living with her mother and stepfather, English fashion photographer Miles Aldridge, alongside a younger sister and two younger brothers. She attended Parliament Hill School and Camden School for Girls while occasionally visiting her biological father in Paris.

At age 18, McMenamy moved to Paris to work as a waitress. After a suggestion from French model Morgane Dubled, she decided to pursue modeling and signed with Next Management. Her major debut occurred in October 2012, walking the runway for Yves Saint Laurent's spring/summer 2013 show designed by Hedi Slimane, followed immediately by a Chanel show the next day.

Six months after her debut, McMenamy gained widespread attention walking the runway for the Marc Jacobs fall/winter 2013 show wearing hot pants and long black gloves while covering her breasts with her arm. Jacobs subsequently selected her to appear in the print advertising campaign for the collection. That same season, she was featured in the fall/winter 2013 campaign for United Colors of Benetton.

Over the course of her modeling career, McMenamy has walked for and represented major luxury brands including Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Moschino, A.P.C., Balmain, Emilio Pucci, Vionnet, Jean Paul Gaultier, Kenzo, and Giles Deacon. She has worked with prominent photographers such as Juergen Teller, Peter Lindbergh, Jean-Baptiste Mondino, Ellen von Unwerth, and Terry Richardson.

McMenamy has featured on the covers of magazines including i-D, Purple, LOVE, Russh, and Zoo Magazine. Her editorial work has been published in British Vogue, Vogue Italia, Interview, L'Officiel, Teen Vogue, Numéro, V, Dazed, Tatler, and T: The New York Times Style Magazine. In October 2020, she appeared alongside her mother on the cover of i-D magazine's 40th anniversary issue, photographed by Alasdair McLellan.

In addition to modeling, McMenamy expanded into acting, appearing in the 2015 feature film A Bigger Splash. She also starred in a short film titled We Like the Zoo, directed by photographer and filmmaker KT Auleta.
