Laura Welsh

Laura Welsh is an English indie pop singer from Staffordshire, best known for her solo music career and vocal collaborations.

She studied music at Birmingham College before embarking on her professional career. In the late 2000s, Welsh served as the lead vocalist for the group Laura & the Tears. The group released an EP titled Love Live On in 2009.

After Laura & the Tears dissolved, Welsh relocated to London to pursue a solo career. She initially performed under the moniker Hey Laura before opting to perform under her birth name. She began recording with music producers Emile Haynie and Lightspeed Champion, and in 2013, she started releasing singles through Polydor Records.

Welsh's career expanded in 2014 when she served as an opening act for touring artists Ellie Goulding and London Grammar. That same year, she provided vocals for the Gorgon City single "Here for You," which successfully entered the UK charts.

Her solo work gained recognition in the United States, where her self-titled EP reached number 23 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart in 2014. Additionally, her music video for the track "Cold Front" was co-directed and co-choreographed by Daniel "Cloud" Campos, featuring a performance by Tamara Levinson.

The following year, Welsh contributed the single "Undiscovered" to the Fifty Shades of Grey Soundtrack. The track achieved commercial success in the United States, peaking at number 38 on the Rock Songs chart in 2015.
