Kristin Prim

Kristin Prim, born December 24, 1993, is an American entrepreneur, visual artist, and publisher. In 2008, she made history by becoming the youngest editor-in-chief of an internationally distributed print publication. Over the course of her career, she has founded and led several media outlets, publications, and commercial ventures, including Prim Magazine, A23, The Provocateur, Lenoir, Uppercut, and Noir. Prim attended Parsons School of Design, where she majored in Design and Management.

Prim began her publishing career in April 2008 at the age of 14 when she founded Prim Magazine, earning recognition as the youngest print publication editor worldwide. The magazine collaborated with notable fashion designers such as Jeremy Scott, Vena Cava, A.F. Vandevorst, Rad Hourani, and Ohne Titel. In mid-2013, Prim released a limited collective oeuvre of her fine artwork, incorporating photography, paintings, and typewritten works focused on themes including androgyny, martyrdom, sexuality, gender, and the female form.

In 2015, Prim established A23, a hardcover art book series that commissions nine fine artists to contribute original work to each volume, beginning with its debut edition, The Mysticism of the Female. In early 2016, she launched The Provocateur, a feminist digital archive showcasing handwritten letters of advice from prominent women in the arts. Following a relaunch in late 2020, The Provocateur continued to operate until its eventual merger into a new project.

Prim expanded her business portfolio in October 2018 by founding Lenoir, a luxury lingerie house created to offer items designed for women by women. In 2022, she established Uppercut, a subscription-based digital fitness platform focused on empowering women through strength training and self-defense. In late 2024, Prim merged The Provocateur with Lenoir to found Noir, an online media outlet and design house engaging in deep conversations with female cultural icons regarding womanhood, power, and self-actualization.

In addition to her work as a publisher and founder, Prim has worked as a model and fashion personality. She has starred in commercial campaigns for brands such as Nike, Diesel, Bulgari, and Nicole Miller, and was photographed by prominent fashion photographers. Prim was named a "Vogueista" by Vogue Italia alongside Tavi Gevinson, became a front-row fixture at New York Fashion Week shows, and has been featured in numerous international fashion magazines, including Teen Vogue, French Glamour, ELLE, i-D, and Dazed.
