Kim Seelbrede

Kimberly Seelbrede is an American model, beauty pageant titleholder, and licensed psychotherapist. She is best known for winning the title of Miss USA in 1981. In addition to her pageant career, she has worked professionally in television, commercial advertising, and print modeling.

Hailing from Germantown, Ohio, Seelbrede began her career in beauty pageants in her home state. In late 1980, she won the Miss Ohio USA pageant, earning the right to represent the state at the national level.

In May 1981, Seelbrede participated in the nationally televised Miss USA pageant held in Biloxi, Mississippi. She won the competition, becoming the second woman from Ohio to earn the Miss USA title. Following her national victory, she pursued opportunities across print modeling, commercials, and television.

In July 1981, Seelbrede represented the United States at the Miss Universe pageant in New York City, where she wore a cowgirl outfit as her national costume. She placed as a semi-finalist in the event, which was ultimately won by Irene Saez of Venezuela.

Outside of her modeling and television career, Seelbrede pursued higher education and earned a graduate degree from New York University. She subsequently became a licensed psychotherapist, holding professional licenses in the states of New York and New Mexico.
