Katie Blair

Katie Blair is an American beauty pageant titleholder and model best known for winning the Miss Teen USA 2006 title. By winning the national competition, she became the first person from the state of Montana to secure a major pageant title. Later in her pageantry career, she assumed the title of Miss California USA 2011.

Blair lived in Sugar Land, Texas, where she attended Stephen F. Austin High School for the ninth through eleventh grades. She later moved to Montana and graduated from Billings West High School in 2006. Although she initially planned to attend Louisiana State University, she postponed her higher education to fulfill her duties as a national pageant winner.

On August 15, 2006, Blair represented Montana at the Miss Teen USA 2006 pageant held in Palm Springs, California. She was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Allie LaForce, while Melissa Lingafelt of North Carolina finished as the first runner-up. Her evening gown, hair, and makeup for the event were styled by Houston designer Gaspar Cruz, who had previously designed for other top national pageant contestants.

As part of her Miss Teen USA prize package, Blair earned a one-year modeling contract with Trump Model Management, a scholarship to The School for Film and Television in New York City, and a guest appearance on the NBC soap opera Passions. During her reign, she resided in a Trump Place apartment in New York City alongside Miss Universe and Miss USA 2006 Tara Conner, and she engaged in charity fundraising activities.

Following her win, Blair participated in media interviews with outlets such as WPIX New York and Fox News's Dayside. In September 2006, she returned to Billings, Montana, for her official homecoming, where the city council declared "Katie Blair Day" and presented her with a key to the city. During her visit, she crowned her successor for the state title, Chelsea Nelson. Her reign as Miss Teen USA concluded on August 24, 2007, when she crowned Hilary Cruz as the next titleholder.

During her time as Miss Teen USA, Blair faced allegations of underage drinking. In response to these claims, Mothers Against Drunk Driving announced on December 20, 2006, that it would no longer utilize her as a spokesperson against underage drinking.

Blair later competed in the Miss California USA 2011 pageant, initially finishing as the first runner-up behind Alyssa Campanella. After Campanella won Miss USA 2011, Blair received the Miss California USA title on June 25, 2011.
