Kara Young

Kara Young is an American model and entrepreneur born on December 10, 1969, in San Francisco, California. She was born to parents Marie and Thomas Young, with her mother being of African American descent and her father of English and Scottish descent. Over the course of her modeling career, she represented several major cosmetics companies and appeared in prominent fashion publications.

Young's modeling career grew significantly between 1988 and 1998, during which she appeared in major advertising campaigns for brands such as Revlon, L'Oreal, Clairol, Maybelline, and Victoria's Secret. Notably, photographer Richard Avedon shot her for Revlon's "Most Unforgettable Women" campaign. She gained broad recognition as an A-list model and was featured in the 1990 article "The New Top Models." While she is best known for her work with Victoria's Secret, she also appeared on the cover of Vogue in both 1988 and 1989.

Throughout the early 1990s, Young graced the covers of several high-profile magazines, including Vogue, Elle, and Glamour, and she also appeared on the cover of Playboy (Germany). Expanding her professional work beyond print modeling, she served as an entertainment news correspondent for the Fox News Channel.

After retiring from modeling, Young transitioned into business as an entrepreneur. She co-founded Hair Rules, a hair care product line alongside a salon located in New York City.

In her personal life, Young was married to photographer Sante D'Orazio in the mid-1990s. She later dated Donald Trump for roughly two years starting around 1997 after meeting at a party in the Hamptons. In 2005, she married Peter Georgiopoulos, a billionaire who founded the General Maritime shipping company. She currently resides in New York City with Georgiopoulos and their two children, and she serves on the board of directors for the organization Action Against Hunger.
