Born on 27 March 1988 in Chadwell Heath, London, Cornish was raised by her parents, Rose and Stephen Cornish. She attended Mayfield High School and Colin's Performing Arts School. After signing a joint venture deal with Lava and Universal Republic, she released her debut album, Who You Are, in 2011. In 2018, Cornish won the sixth season of the Hunan TV competition show Singer. That same year, she released her four-part fourth album, R.O.S.E., followed by her holiday project, This Christmas Day. She joined The Voice Kids UK as a coach in 2019.
