Jenny Shimizu

Jenny Lynn Shimizu is an American model and actress born on June 16, 1967. Born in San Jose, California, she was raised in Santa Maria.

Shimizu was initially working as a mechanic when she was approached to model for Calvin Klein fashion and the Calvin Klein CK1 fragrance advertisements. She subsequently appeared in the Banana Republic campaign titled "American Beauty."

In her modeling career, Shimizu achieved notable milestones in high fashion. She became the first Asian model to walk the runway for Prada and was also the first minority model to open a fashion show for the brand.

Beyond modeling, Shimizu has pursued acting in film and television projects. She starred in the film Foxfire alongside Angelina Jolie and had a supporting role in the 2007 film Itty Bitty Titty Committee, directed by Jamie Babbit. Additionally, she appeared in the third season of the Here TV original series Dante's Cove.

Shimizu has also participated in television broadcasts as a judge and guest. In 2005, she made a special guest appearance on Tyra Banks's reality television show America's Next Top Model. She later served as a member of the judging panel on the second season of Bravo TV's Make Me a Supermodel. In 2019, she was featured in the documentary House of Cardin, where she discussed the model Hiroko Matsumoto.
