About Jenna Rose

Jenna Rose Swerdlow, known professionally as Jenna Rose, is an American pop singer born on September 28, 1998, in Long Island, New York. An only child, she spent her early years in Baldwin, New York, before relocating with her family to Dix Hills, New York, in 2005. She began performing at two years old and started receiving private vocal training at age eight.

Swerdlow began her performing career in community theater before advancing to regional productions and Off-Broadway plays. Over her career, she appeared in more than 18 plays, including principal roles in Ragtime and The Miracle Worker, and played the title role in the 2011 Off-Broadway production The Odella Williams Show. During her youth, she was a finalist in the Got Talent? Long Island competition and the New York Knicks Kids Talent Search, leading to a halftime performance at a New York Knicks game. In 2009, she was selected for coaching sessions with saxophonist Richie Cannata, whose son Eren Cannata wrote and produced three early singles for her.

In October 2010, at twelve years old, Swerdlow released her debut music video, "My Jeans," on YouTube. The video featured a rap by Baby Triggy and a cameo by Yung Deon. The release went viral, amassing millions of views and bringing her media coverage, while also drawing substantial online criticism, parodies, and negative feedback. In 2011, she released the follow-up singles "O.M.G." and "Don't Give Up" as a response to online criticism and cyberbullying. She released a cover of "Walk On By" in October 2012, subsequently touring with two musical groups and performing at the Nassau Coliseum.

Swerdlow was a drummer and drum major in her high school band, where she was named "Most Musical." She attended Hofstra University from 2016 to 2020, graduating with a bachelor's degree in mass communications and earning Dean's List honors in 2017 and 2018. While pursuing her degree, she worked as an intern for The Bittleman Show and as a day camp counselor. By 2023, she had taken on the role of Vice President of Client Relations and Associate Producer for The Donna Drake Show on CBS.

In 2019, Swerdlow founded her independent record label, Rose Petal Records, launching its catalog with the single "Mess with Me" featuring Edwrds. She has since released more than 15 singles, including a December 2020 cover of James Arthur's "Train Wreck," which became her most-streamed song on Spotify.

Throughout her career, Swerdlow has received public recognition, including being honored by the town board of Huntington, New York, in 2009 and featured in Time magazine's 2011 list of children poised for viral fame.
