Brown was born in Gainesville, Florida, and raised in Orlando, Florida, by parents who worked as Olympic gymnastics coaches. She attended Bishop Moore High School, where she participated in seven sports and set a school record by earning 14 varsity letters. She enrolled at the University of Florida on an academic scholarship, where she played softball for four years, served as team captain in her senior year, and earned numerous academic accolades before graduating summa cum laude.

Although she originally planned to attend law school, Brown began her television career by hosting the HDNet travel program The Wild Side. From 2003 to 2008, she hosted episodes of Bikini Destinations on HDNet and went on to present shows across various networks, including 48 Straight, The Mountain Experience alongside Jonny Moseley, and I Want To Look Like a High School Cheerleader Again on CMT. She also worked as a correspondent for E! News Now in 2008.

Between 2008 and 2009, Brown worked for Showtime Sports as a live event reporter covering boxing and mixed martial arts. She served as a special correspondent for Inside the NFL during two seasons, including its 2008 Emmy Award-winning season. In 2009, she appeared as a host on ABC's primetime show The Superstars.

Brown spent eight years with ESPN, working as a reporter and host. During her time with the network, she co-hosted ESPNU's college football show RoadTrip and served as a Los Angeles-based bureau reporter contributing to SportsCenter, College GameDay, and College Football Live. She also reported on major events such as the College World Series, Little League World Series, Summer and Winter X Games, and the ESPYs. Additionally, she spent two years as a studio host and reporter for the NFL Network, where she hosted NFL GameDay Scoreboard and A Football Life: Backstory, and served as a co-host for American Ninja Warrior on NBC and the Esquire Network.

In addition to her broadcasting work, Brown has appeared as a model in advertising campaigns for Under Armour's athletic clothing line. Her acting credits include a role in the feature film Two Tickets to Paradise and appearances playing herself in two episodes of the television series Kingdom. She resides in Los Angeles, California, with her husband, actor Wes Chatham, and their two sons.
