Hoon Lee

Tong Hoon Lee is an American actor who has worked extensively across stage, screen, and voice acting. He is widely recognized for portraying Job in the Cinemax drama series Banshee, playing the King of Siam in the Broadway revival of The King and I, and voicing characters such as Hamato Yoshi/Splinter in the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series and Shredder in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. His voice work also includes the White Rabbit in Devil May Cry and Barney Choi in Your Friends & Neighbours.

Lee was born on July 18, 1973, in Plymouth, Massachusetts, to parents Jung Ja Lee and Moon Soo Lee. He attended Harvard University, graduating in 1994 with a degree in English literature and environmental studies. He has a brother, Tony Lee, who is a notable club volleyball coach at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Beginning his professional acting career on stage, Lee appeared in the Broadway production of Urinetown in 2001. Over the following years, he performed in various stage roles, including playing Rosencrantz in a musical adaptation of Hamlet. In 2008, he earned significant recognition by winning a Theatre World Award for Distinguished Performance for his work in Yellow Face.

Lee made his television screen debut in 2003, portraying Dr. Mao in an episode of Sex and the City. He subsequently built his screen credits with guest appearances on television series such as Law & Order, Fringe, Royal Pains, White Collar, and NCIS: New Orleans. Alongside his television work, Lee appeared in minor roles in feature films, including Saving Face, We Own the Night, Premium Rush, and The Oranges.

A major milestone in Lee's television career came in March 2012, when he was cast in the starring role of Job, a high-level computer hacker and drag queen, in the series Banshee. In addition to his live-action roles, Lee established a prominent voice acting resume across animated series and other media.

In 2015, Lee returned to major Broadway theater when Lincoln Center announced on June 18 that he would take over the role of the King of Siam from Jose Llana in their Tony Award-winning revival of The King and I. He officially joined the stage production on September 29, 2015, and continued performing as the King through April 2016.

In his personal life, Lee met Sekiya Lavone Billman in 2001 while both were performing in Making Tracks, a benefit production in Taipei, Taiwan, hosted for the Manhattan-based Asian-American theater organization Second Generation. The couple married in October 2008.
