Duke Dumont

Adam George Dyment, born in 1982 and better known by his stage name Duke Dumont, is an English DJ and music producer. He is best known for his hit singles, including "Need U (100%)", "I Got U", "Won't Look Back", and "Ocean Drive", which reached number one, number one, number two, and number forty-two on the UK singles chart, respectively. In addition to his recording career, he established the record label Blasé Boys Club, which he has also used as a production alias. Beyond his original releases, he has created numerous remixes, several of which have achieved UK chart placement.

Dyment's early career was mentored by the producer Switch, and he initially built his reputation by remixing tracks for pop artists, including Lily Allen's "The Fear", Mystery Jets' "Two Doors Down", and Bat for Lashes' "Daniel". He released his debut project, the Regality EP, on Turbo Recordings in March 2007, followed by The Dominion Dubs EP on Dubsided in August 2008. In 2010, he mixed the FabricLive.51 compilation album for Fabric. To focus on writing original music, Dyment moved from London to the Hertfordshire countryside in 2011.

In 2012, Dumont released For Club Play Only Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 through Turbo Recordings, earning airplay on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1Xtra from presenters Annie Mac, Fearne Cotton, and Trevor Nelson. During the same year, he remixed AlunaGeorge's "Your Drums, Your Love" and Santigold's "The Keepers". His breakthrough single, "Need U (100%)" featuring vocalist A*M*E, was released on 31 March 2013. The track topped the UK singles chart and entered the charts in Belgium and the Netherlands, accompanied by a music video directed by Ian Robertson starring Rique that garnered over 37 million YouTube views. In July 2013, Pitchfork premiered his track "Hold On", which featured vocals by MNEK.

Dumont premiered his follow-up single, "I Got U", in December 2013, releasing it officially in 2014 as the second single for his upcoming album. The track reached number one on the UK singles chart and interpolated Whitney Houston's 1998 song "My Love Is Your Love". In August 2014, he released "Won't Look Back", which rose to number two on the UK singles chart. His work earned two consecutive Grammy Award nominations for Best Dance Recording, first for "Need U (100%)" at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards in 2014, and then for "I Got U" at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards in 2015. He released the single "Ocean Drive" from the EP Blasé Boys Club Pt. 1 in July 2015, and later issued the EP For Club Play Only Pt. 4 through Defected Records in August 2016, containing the tracks "Be Here" and "Worship".

On 17 April 2020, Dumont released his debut studio album, Duality. In an interview with Billboard, he explained that he delayed releasing a full-length record to ensure he created a body of music with emotional impact and longevity, incorporating elements such as strings and structural chords alongside traditional synth lines and beats.
