Born Christopher Andrew Gooden on October 26, 1993, in North Carolina, Gooden moved to Orlando, Florida, at a young age. He developed a strong interest in sketch comedy and improvisation early on, aspiring to pursue a career in comedic writing. In 2013, he joined Vine, where he gained widespread internet fame for his short-form comedic skits. His most iconic Vine, featuring the joke "Road work ahead? Uh, yeah, I sure hope it does!", became an enduring viral meme. By the time Vine ceased operations in early 2017, Gooden had accumulated hundreds of thousands of followers on the platform.

Following Vine's shutdown, Gooden shifted his full attention to YouTube, launching commentary and essay-style videos on his main channel, @drewisgooden. In addition to touring, Gooden has continued to write, film, and edit his independent content while occasionally participating in live stand-up performances and podcast appearances.
