DJ Heavygrinder

Bobbie Merveille, born in 1983, is an American disc jockey best known by her stage names DJ Heavygrinder and Marie Vaunt.

She was born in Seattle, Washington, to a French father and a Japanese mother. She grew up in Japan's Kanagawa Prefecture, where she lived until the age of 14. During her teenage years, her parents decided that she would pursue her education in the United States.

After returning to the United States, she became involved in the art of DJing. Although she had worked as an actress during her time living in Japan, she maintained very little to no interest in pursuing acting further.

As a musical performer, she plays a variety of genres including house, electronica, indie, and trance. Her musical mentors and strongest influences span a wide range of artists, including Cannibal Corpse, Pantera, Deicide, Justice, Gackt, L'Arc-en-Ciel, The Prodigy, Jamiroquai, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Daft Punk.

Throughout her career, DJ Heavygrinder has taken part in notable live events. She performed at the AnimeMatsuri convention in Houston, Texas, in March 2011, and returned to perform at the same event in March 2014.

In addition to her work under the name DJ Heavygrinder, Merveille expanded her performance aliases later in her career. She began performing under the stage name Marie Vaunt in 2018.
