Andre De Grasse

Andre De Grasse (born November 10, 1994) is a Canadian track and field sprinter. Recognized as one of Canada's most decorated Olympic sprinters, he specializes in the 100-meter and 200-meter sprint events as well as the 4x100-meter relay. Raised in Markham, Ontario, De Grasse began competing in track and field during high school before advancing through the collegiate system at Coffeyville Community College and the University of Southern California (USC).

De Grasse rose to international prominence in 2015 while competing for the USC Trojans, winning both the 100-meter and 200-meter titles at the NCAA Division I Championships. That same summer, he earned two gold medals at the Pan American Games in Toronto and secured bronze medals in the 100 meters and 4x100-meter relay at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing. Following these performances, De Grasse transitioned to professional athletics.

At his Olympic debut during the 2016 Rio Games, De Grasse captured three medals, taking silver in the 200 meters and bronze in both the 100 meters and 4x100-meter relay. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, held in 2021, he won his first Olympic gold medal in the 200 meters with a national record time of 19.62 seconds, alongside a bronze in the 100 meters and silver in the relay. He further expanded his medal tally by securing gold in the 4x100-meter relay at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene and anchoring Canada to another relay gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Beyond his athletic career, De Grasse is active in business and philanthropy. He founded the Andre De Grasse Family Foundation to support youth through sports, education, and health programs. He has authored books including the motivational work Ignite: Unlock the Hidden Potential Within and the children's book Race with Me!, while continuing to compete at elite international track meets.
