Global pop icon Olivia Rodrigo announced on November 2, 2026, that she will launch her first-ever original holiday single, titled "take me home (4 christmas)." The festive song, released via Interscope Records, arrives alongside an official music video co-starring Emmy-winning actress Cynthia Nixon and Saturday Night Live comedian Ben Marshall.
Rodrigo co-wrote the holiday track with her longtime music collaborator Dan Nigro and songwriter Amy Allen. Nigro also handled production duties on the record. To accompany the digital debut, physical offerings including a limited-edition seven-inch red vinyl pressing and a collectible audio cassette were made available for pre-order through her official online store and select retail partners.
This release follows a monumental period of career momentum for the 23-year-old singer-songwriter. In October, Rodrigo teamed up with Chappell Roan for a high-profile remix of her song "expectations," which quickly became the highest-peaking all-female musical collaboration on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2026. The track pushed her critically acclaimed third studio album back to the top spot of the Billboard 200 chart.
Rodrigo's third studio album premiered at number one earlier in the year with 485,000 first-week units in the United States, representing the biggest debut for a solo artist in 2026 while leading music sales charts across 17 countries worldwide. Over the summer, she launched Daisy Chain Fields, a women-led music festival in Irvine, California, which raised over $20 million for charitable non-profit organizations advocating for young women.
The holiday song drop coincides with a pause in Rodrigo's ongoing sold-out global concert series, The Unraveled Tour. Having sold more than one million tickets globally across major arenas and stadiums, Rodrigo continues to set venue attendance records as she prepares to resume her tour dates following the holiday season.
