Details surrounding an intense on-set incident between actors Eric Dane and Josh Duhamel have come to light following the posthumous release of Dane's memoir, My Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments. In excerpts published upon the book's official arrival on November 3, 2026, the late actor recalled a guest-starring appearance on the hit NBC drama series Las Vegas in 2004 that nearly devolved into a physical fight during the taping of an action scene.

According to the account written prior to his passing in February 2026 at age 53 following a battle with ALS, Dane was suffering from a herniated cervical disc in his neck at the time of production. Before filming a climactic physical altercation with Duhamel, Dane explicitly requested that his co-star avoid pulling on his necktie to prevent further injury. However, as cameras rolled, the physical choreography repeatedly strained Dane's neck, leading to escalating frustration between the two performers.

Dane disclosed in the text that after multiple takes involving contact with his tie, he removed his wardrobe jacket and challenged Duhamel directly. Because crew members did not immediately halt production, the rolling cameras captured the confrontational moment, leaving Dane feeling framed as the primary aggressor in the edit. Despite the intense clash, Dane emphasized in his writing that he later reconciled with Duhamel and expressed regret over how he handled the situation, acknowledging he should have walked away.

Born in San Francisco, Dane built an acclaimed career spanning more than two decades across television and film. He gained widespread international recognition for portraying Dr. Mark Sloan on the long-running ABC medical drama Grey's Anatomy, a role he played for seven seasons. He went on to star as Captain Tom Chandler in TNT's action series The Last Ship and earned further praise for his performance as Cal Jacobs in HBO's teen drama series Euphoria.

Published by Gallery Books, My Book of Days offers fans a reflective journey through key moments of Dane's personal life and career. Representatives for Duhamel have not publicly commented on the excerpt, but the memoir's release has drawn renewed appreciation for Dane's candid storytelling and legacy across the entertainment industry.
