Xavier Landum

Xavier Landum, known professionally as BigXthaPlug, is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer signed to the Brooklyn-based record label UnitedMasters. He achieved widespread recognition through popular tracks such as "Texas" and "Mmhmm".

Born on May 12, 1998, in Dallas, Texas, Landum spent his early years in a difficult environment as the child of street-dwelling parents. His mother and father exposed him to a broad spectrum of music ranging from UGK and the Isley Brothers to Lil Wayne and Drake. Troubles in school led to frequent absences and altercations, prompting a move to Commerce, Texas, at age nine to live with his father. Landum channeled his energy into football, earning interest from Division 1 recruiters. After graduating from Ferris High School in 2016, he attended Crown College in Minnesota, but his collegiate sports aspirations ended when he was expelled after police found marijuana in his dorm room.

Following his expulsion, Landum faced employment struggles and engaged in illegal activities. Prior to his eighteenth birthday, he was apprehended on an aggravated robbery warrant. A subsequent probation violation resulted in additional incarceration, causing him to miss his son's first birthday. While held in solitary confinement, Landum began composing his initial rap lyrics on medical forms. Upon his release, he funded his studio sessions through street endeavors and recorded his debut mixtape, Bacc from the Dead.

After serving another period of jail time in 2022 for weapon and marijuana charges, during which he wrote more music in solitary confinement, Landum released his debut studio album, Amar, in February 2023. Named after his son, the record produced the breakout single "Texas," which earned a Gold certification from the RIAA. That same year, he established his own record label, 600 Entertainment, signing artists Yung Hood and Ro$ama, and embarked on his Don't Mess With Texas Tour.

In October 2023, Landum issued the track "Mmhmm," which entered the Billboard Hot 100 at number 93 and peaked at number 65 following a remix featuring Finesse2tymes on his EP The Biggest. Outside of his recording career, Landum participated in an April 2025 video project with the Autism Society of America for Autism Acceptance Month, highlighting his bond with his autistic son, Amar. In August 2026, he faced legal issues following an arrest in Texas involving charges related to a firearm, marijuana, and driving while intoxicated.
