Trey Kennedy

Thomas "Trey" Kennedy III is an American comedian, actor, and singer who gained widespread recognition for his comedic video content across digital platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram. Initially rising to prominence on the now-defunct application Vine, he successfully transitioned his online presence to multiple social networks, building a massive public following.

Raised in Edmond, Oklahoma, Kennedy was a quiet child who engaged in basketball during his youth and had no early intentions of becoming an entertainer. He pursued higher education at Oklahoma State University, joining the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. It was during his undergraduate years that he began filming comedic clips with friends on Vine. He later earned a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma State University, where he served on the board of the Masters of Business Administration Association.

Kennedy developed an interest in music around the age of 19 in 2011, after friends heard him singing along to the radio and urged him to enter a charity contest. Despite growing up in a non-musical family, he launched a singing career focused on pop and rhythm and blues. He released the extended play Take Me to the River in 2016 alongside various singles. He later launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a music project alongside an Oklahoma-based producer.

As his digital career expanded, Kennedy collaborated with several notable creators. Starting in 2017, he frequently partnered with comedian John Crist on popular videos, including a notable sketch about Nashville bachelorette parties, and joined Crist on select 2018 tour dates. Kennedy also created collaborative content with King Bach. In 2019, he launched the Studio71-produced podcast Correct Opinions with Trey Kennedy, co-hosted with his collaborator Jake Triplett and his wife Katie Kennedy, which achieved top-100 comedy podcast rankings in the United States, Canada, Australia, and Great Britain.

Kennedy's comedic sketches have amassed millions of views online, including a widely viewed 2019 video centered on mothers and another viral clip satirizing middle school behavior. The popularity of his middle school parodies inspired his 2020 television series, Middle School Maddox. Outside of digital media, he has performed stand-up comedy and published books such as Dads Be Like: 'Tis the Season to be Swaggy and Girls Be Like. His planned 2020 live tour, titled "Are You For Real?", faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kennedy got engaged to biomedical engineer Katie Byrum in September 2019, and the pair wed in a private ceremony in May 2020. They have two children, a son born in February 2023 and a daughter born in September 2024. A Christian, Kennedy currently resides in Kansas City and supports the Kansas City Chiefs.
