Rickey Thompson

Rickey Thompson is an American actor, comedian, and digital content creator who gained widespread recognition through his comedic videos shared on social media platforms, including Vine and Instagram. Born on February 6, 1996, he eventually transitioned into mainstream entertainment, taking on acting roles, podcast hosting, music project features, and modeling engagements.

Raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, Thompson attended Millbrook High School. During his secondary education, he participated in school theater productions while facing bullying due to his sexual orientation. To share his personal experiences, he began creating content on YouTube, where he discussed topics such as coping with harassment and his personal interest in fashion. Around the same period, he started uploading brief comedic clips to Vine, featuring direct-to-camera monologues.

Thompson's digital presence experienced significant growth when public figure Kylie Jenner shared one of his videos when he was seventeen years old. This exposure rapidly expanded his audience, allowing him to accumulate 2.5 million followers on Vine prior to the platform's shutdown in 2016. Following the closure of Vine, he redirected his focus to Instagram, where he continued to publish short-form video content and expanded his online following.

After graduating from high school, Thompson chose not to pursue higher education and instead relocated to Los Angeles to advance his career in the entertainment industry. He monetized his growing online popularity through promotional posts, public appearances at events, and guest roles in external media projects. In 2016, he publicly came out as gay through a post on Twitter.

Thompson made his acting debut in online media by starring in the YouTube Red series Foursome, a show in which he appeared from 2016 through 2018. His entertainment portfolio grew further in 2018 when musical artist Aminé contacted him via Instagram direct message, leading to Thompson narrating audio interludes for the album OnePointFive and appearing in the music video for the single Reel It In.

In addition to his content creation and acting, Thompson pursued his interest in the fashion industry. In December 2018, he achieved a professional milestone by walking in his initial fashion runway show for designer Alexander Wang. Later, in 2022, he appeared in the stoner comedy film Good Mourning alongside Machine Gun Kelly and Mod Sun.

Thompson has also expanded into audio broadcasting and music features. He co-hosts the Spotify original podcast titled We Said What We Said alongside fellow internet content creator Denzel Dion. Subsequently, in 2024, he was featured on rapper Brooke Candy's album Candyland, appearing on the track titled Juicy.
