Peter Jones

Peter David Jones CBE is a British entrepreneur, investor, and television personality best known for his long-standing role on the BBC television series Dragons' Den. Joining the show at its launch in 2005, he became its longest-serving investor and the only original panel member remaining. His prominent presence in business television has made him one of the United Kingdom's most recognizable commercial figures.

Jones demonstrated an early interest in enterprise, founding a computer manufacturing business while still in his teens. Following a business failure in his twenties, he gained corporate experience at Siemens Nixdorf before launching Phones International Group in 1998. The telecommunications venture achieved rapid commercial growth, serving as a foundation for his wider commercial empire. Over the years, his investment holdings have encompassed technology, retail, property, and publishing, as well as backing notable commercial successes from Dragons' Den, such as Levi Roots and Reggae Reggae Sauce.

In addition to his work on Dragons' Den, Jones has developed and fronted several other television projects internationally. He co-created the television competition series American Inventor alongside Simon Cowell for the ABC network, and produced and starred in the ITV business series Tycoon. He has also made appearances on American business reality shows such as Shark Tank, as well as guest spots on various British light entertainment and sporting programmes.

Beyond his media and corporate activities, Jones is active in philanthropic and educational initiatives. He established the Peter Jones Foundation to promote enterprise skills among young people, which led to the creation of the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy and national student business competitions. In recognition of his contributions to business, enterprise, and charitable work, he was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2009.
