Sanchez began her live streaming career by creating her "neeko" Twitch account in October 2017. The video referenced the "OK boomer" meme used by Gen Z to criticize the Baby boomer generation. It received over 6 million views in four days on TikTok before being removed due to a copyright takedown, and accumulated over 30 million views on Twitter, with Sanchez stating it reached over 50 million views by April. A noted supporter of Bernie Sanders' 2020 U.S. presidential campaign, she was contacted by the campaign's head of social media for a potential collaboration. The video was ranked 12th on The Daily Dot's list of the best memes of 2020 in April.

Following her rise in online popularity, Sanchez drew significant audience engagement and media commentary regarding her streaming style and persona. After revealing she had a boyfriend, she lost over 65,000 Twitter followers within 48 hours, though she later stated this statement was for entertainment purposes. In April 2020, she signed with content management company Night Media, planning to branch out on YouTube and develop a product line.
