Miki Rai

Miki Rai is an American registered nurse, digital content creator, and social media personality based in Seattle, Washington. She first gained widespread recognition online for documenting her journey through nursing school and sharing insights into healthcare, professional routines, and wellness. With over a million followers across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, Rai has built a substantial digital platform centered on nursing education, lifestyle vlogs, and transparent discussions about medical careers.

Early Life and Education

Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, Rai completed her high school education early before attending community college. She subsequently enrolled in the UCLA School of Nursing at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2018. During her youth and early academic years, she also engaged in modeling and acting projects, appearing in commercial campaigns for major brands. Additionally, Rai is trilingual and has volunteered with the American Red Cross by translating national disaster documentation.

Healthcare Career and Digital Content

Rai began her nursing career as a registered nurse, working in specialized clinical settings including pediatric intensive care. Her path into content creation began while studying at UCLA, where a photograph of her and fellow classmates in hospital scrubs gained significant attention on Instagram. Recognizing a lack of authentic representations of healthcare professions on social media, she began posting study tips, career advice, and behind-the-scenes vlogs detailing hospital work shifts.

Expanded Media and Online Platform

As her platform grew, Rai expanded her focus to YouTube and TikTok, publishing longer vlog-style videos, travel diaries, product recommendations, and educational shorts. Alongside her personal channels, she has engaged in podcasting and brand partnerships, using her experience to educate aspiring nursing students and simplify healthcare concepts for a broad public audience. Over time, she built a multi-platform media footprint combining medical wellness, personal lifestyle, and creative storytelling.

Rai resides in Seattle, Washington, alongside her husband, Kevin Yu, who is a physician and fellow digital creator known online as @k3vmd. The couple frequently collaborates on joint content, documenting their relationship, medical training milestones, international travel, and everyday home life.
