Mike Pullen

Mike Pullen is a British outdoorsman, YouTube creator, and adventure filmmaker best known as the creator and host of the wilderness channel TA Outdoors. Born on June 7, 1990, in England, United Kingdom, Pullen has built a large international online audience by documenting bushcraft techniques, primitive shelter construction, survival skills, wild camping, and off-grid DIY projects. Through detailed long-form vlogs and educational tutorials, he demonstrates traditional craft techniques using hand tools and natural resources.

Early Life and Content Beginnings

Pullen grew up in the United Kingdom with a passion for angling and outdoor pursuits, heavily inspired by his father, Graeme Pullen. He worked in the construction industry prior to pursuing full-time content creation, which provided him with foundational knowledge in woodworking, building mechanics, and tool handling. Before launching his primary brand, he collaborated with his father on the fishing-focused YouTube channel TA Fishing (Totally Awesome Fishing), producing weekly instructional fishing videos for anglers across the United Kingdom and abroad.

Rise of TA Outdoors

In November 2014, Pullen launched TA Outdoors (@TAOutdoors) to focus specifically on bushcraft, wilderness survival, and primitive building projects. His content quickly gained traction due to ambitious, multi-day building challenges, such as constructing a cabin from recycled pallet wood, erecting historical shelters like Viking houses and Celtic roundhouses, and setting up off-grid camps in UK woodland. His viral homesteading and shelter-building videos amassed tens of millions of views, propelling the channel to over 2.4 million subscribers and cementing his status as one of the prominent outdoor content creators in the United Kingdom.

Brand Partnerships and Ventures

In addition to his primary YouTube channel, Pullen manages a secondary vlogging outlet, Life of Mike, where he shares behind-the-scenes footage and personal updates. He operates an official e-commerce website selling bushcraft merchandise, outdoor gear, and camping accessories. Recognized for his prominent footprint in the outdoor lifestyle space, Pullen was appointed as a brand ambassador for British campervan converter CamperKing, showcasing custom vehicle modifications tailored for wild camping and long-distance travel.

Personal Life

Pullen resides in Hampshire, England, where he owns and manages a private woodland area that serves as the filming location for many of his bushcraft and wild camping projects. He is a father of two and frequently features his family members and dogs in his vlog updates. Pullen remains active on social media platforms, documenting his outdoor endeavors on Instagram under the handle @taoutdoorofficial.
