Luke Tennie

Luke Tennie is an American actor born on November 21, 1994. He is widely recognized for portraying Sean Mitchell in the Apple TV comedy series Shrinking.

Born in Chicago, Tennie grew up in Plantation, Florida. During his youth, he went to American Heritage School, where he participated in football. He later pursued formal training at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, completing his studies and graduating in 2016.

Tennie made his professional acting debut in 2017 with an appearance in the film Shock and Awe, directed by Rob Reiner. The following year, he secured a main role in the Syfy action television series Deadly Class. His career continued to progress in 2020 when he appeared in the Disney+ sports drama feature Safety.

In 2023, Tennie joined the cast of the comedy-drama series Shrinking as the character Sean. For his work on the show, he was nominated alongside his castmates for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series at the 31st Screen Actors Guild Awards. He also received an Individual Spirit Award nomination for Best Supporting Performance in a New Scripted Series.

Tennie appeared in the 2024 feature film Nickel Boys, an project that earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. In 2025, he secured a recurring role on the television show Abbott Elementary, followed by a role in the second season of The Pitt in 2026. That same year, he was cast to portray the character Lieutenant West in the video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.

In his personal life, Tennie married María Romero in 2021. The couple has two children, including a daughter named Marilú who was born in 2023, and a second child born two years later.
