Louise Pentland

Louise Pentland is an English content creator, author, lifestyle influencer, and television personality. Born on April 28, 1985, in Northampton, England, she first gained widespread digital prominence under the blog and YouTube moniker Sprinkle of Glitter. Over more than a decade in digital media, Pentland expanded her reach from early craft and beauty vlogs to encompass open discussions on motherhood, body positivity, fashion, and family life. Beyond her social channels, she is a Sunday Times best-selling novelist and media presenter in the United Kingdom.

Early Online Career

Pentland began her digital presence in late 2009 with the launch of her craft and interior design blog, Sprinkle of Glitter. In January 2010, she launched her main YouTube channel under the same name, which featured beauty tutorials, fashion hauls, and advice videos. She subsequently established a companion vlog channel, Sprinkle of Chatter, in 2012. Pentland became a prominent figure in the UK creator community during the early 2010s, participating in prominent collaborations with creators such as Zoe Sugg and Alfie Deyes. In 2016, she formally retired her Sprinkle of Glitter handle to publish content under her legal name, shifting her focus toward broader lifestyle and parenting themes.

Publishing and Media

In addition to online video creation, Pentland built a successful career as an author. She published her non-fiction debut, Life with a Sprinkle of Glitter, in 2015, followed by her debut novel, Wilde Like Me, in 2017. The novel became a Sunday Times best-selling fiction release and initiated a series following fictional protagonist Robin Wilde, including Wilde About the Girl and Wilde Women. Her subsequent non-fiction title, MumLife, documented her personal parenting experiences. Pentland hosted the parenting podcast Mothers' Meeting and has expanded into UK television broadcasting, making regular appearances on ITV's daytime talk show Loose Women.
