Linus Sebastian

Linus Gabriel Sebastian (born August 20, 1986) is a Canadian YouTube personality, entrepreneur, and digital media producer. He is best known as the creator and long-time presenter of Linus Tech Tips, one of the most prominent hardware and consumer technology channels on YouTube. Beyond his flagship channel, Sebastian founded Linus Media Group and helped build an extensive network of tech-focused media brands and digital platforms.

Early Career and NCIX

Sebastian began his career in the technology sector working for the Canadian online computer retailer NCIX. Starting in retail sales and product management, he was tasked with creating video content to showcase computer hardware and components. In November 2008, he launched the Linus Tech Tips channel while at NCIX to produce accessible, high-frequency technology reviews. The channel served as a practical format for video production techniques, hardware benchmarking, and custom PC assembly guides, establishing a foundation for his independent media work.

Linus Media Group and Operations

In 2012, Sebastian left NCIX and officially established Linus Media Group (LMG) in early 2013 with his spouse, Yvonne Ho. Under LMG, Sebastian expanded his production footprint by creating multiple specialized channels, including Techquickie, TechLinked, ShortCircuit, and Mac Address. Beyond YouTube content, LMG created Floatplane, a video-streaming platform for independent creators, and built an internal e-commerce and product development division. In July 2023, Sebastian transitioned from Chief Executive Officer to Chief Vision Officer at LMG, stepping back from daily corporate administration to focus on creative direction, testing methodology, and content presenting.

He continues to appear regularly in video projects and hosts weekly technology discussions on live-stream shows like The WAN Show.
