Katie Boulter

Katie Charlotte Boulter is a British professional tennis player and former British women's No. 1. She achieved a career-high WTA singles ranking of No. 23 on 4 November 2024 and a best doubles ranking of No. 225 on 8 June 2026. Over her professional career, she has won four WTA Tour singles titles, one WTA 125 singles title, seven ITF singles titles, and four ITF doubles titles.

Born on 1 August 1996 in Woodhouse Eaves, Leicestershire, Boulter began playing tennis at the age of five and went on to represent Great Britain three years later. Before focusing primarily on tennis, she played the piano. Outside of competition, she holds an interest in fashion and appeared in Vogue magazine in 2018. She trains at the Lawn Tennis Association's National Tennis Centre in Roehampton and has been coached by Jeremy Bates, Nigel Sears, Timothy Seals, and Mark Taylor.

As a junior competitor, Boulter was ranked No. 10 in the world in March 2014. Her early accomplishments included winning the Lemon Bowl in 2008 and reaching the final of the Junior Orange Bowl in 2011, receiving the Aegon Junior Player Award that same month. In January 2014, she reached the girls' doubles final at the Australian Open alongside Ivana Jorović. She claimed her first senior doubles title in late 2013 and her first senior singles title in Sharm El Sheikh in May 2014.

Boulter steadily progressed through the ITF circuit, winning $25k and $60k singles titles in Óbidos and Fukuoka in 2018 before reaching her first WTA Tour quarterfinal at the Nottingham Open. That same year, she won her first-round match in the main draw at Wimbledon. At the 2019 Australian Open, she earned her first main-draw win at the tournament, though her season was later interrupted by a spinal stress fracture sustained during Fed Cup play. After returning to action, she recorded her first top-10 victories against Karolina Plíšková in 2022 and advanced to the third round of a major for the first time at Wimbledon.

In June 2023, Boulter became the British No. 1 player and captured her maiden WTA Tour title at the Nottingham Open by defeating Jodie Burrage in an all-British final. Her performances at the US Open later that year propelled her into the top 50 of the WTA rankings. In 2024, she won her first WTA 500 title at the San Diego Open, successfully defended her Nottingham Open title, reached the final of the Hong Kong Open, and rose to her career-high ranking of No. 23.

Continuing her career into 2025, Boulter represented Great Britain in the United Cup and the Billie Jean King Cup. She earned her first clay-court title at any level by winning the WTA 125 Trophée Clarins in Paris and registered her fourth career victory over a top-10 player by defeating ninth seed Paula Badosa in the first round at Wimbledon.
