Jenna Marbles

Jenna Nicole Mourey, professionally recognized as Jenna Marbles, is an American comedian and former digital content creator. Operating her YouTube channel for over a decade, she accumulated approximately 1.8 billion total video views and reached a peak audience of more than 20 million subscribers, making her one of the platform's most prominent figures.

Mourey was born on September 15, 1986, in Rochester, New York, where she grew up and graduated from Brighton High School in 2004. She then moved to Boston, Massachusetts, attending Suffolk University, where she played softball and obtained a Bachelor of Science in psychology. She continued her education at Boston University, earning a Master of Education in sport psychology and counseling.

By the summer of 2010, Mourey was residing in Cambridge, Massachusetts, supporting herself through jobs as a bartender, tanning salon employee, go-go dancer, and vlogger. She also spent a year writing for StoolLaLa, a female-focused website run by Barstool Sports, before leaving in 2011. She adopted the professional name Jenna Marbles after her mother expressed concern that search results for their real surname might hinder employment opportunities due to the viral nature of Mourey's videos; the pseudonym was taken from her dog, Mr. Marbles.

Her YouTube channel gained rapid popularity in 2010 with the release of her comedic clip How to Trick People into Thinking You're Good Looking, which drew millions of views in its first week. A subsequent 2011 video on avoiding unwanted conversations attracted coverage from outlets like The New York Times and ABC News. Marbles expanded her screen presence by portraying Eve in Epic Rap Battles of History, making appearances in Annoying Orange, Ridiculousness, and Smosh: The Movie, and featuring in Pitbull's Fireball music video. In 2015, her likeness was adapted into a wax figure for Madame Tussauds New York.

In addition to digital videos, Marbles pursued several commercial and media projects. She launched a dog toy collection named Kermie Worm & Mr. Marbles in 2013, sold merchandise displaying her popular catchphrases, hosted the weekly YouTube 15 countdown on SiriusXM Hits 1 beginning in 2014, and served as an executive producer for the 2016 feature film Maximum Ride.

In June 2020, Marbles issued a public apology regarding past videos from 2011 and 2012 that contained offensive language, racial caricatures, and derogatory remarks. Expressing remorse for these actions, she announced an indefinite departure from YouTube. Her partner, Julien Solomita, subsequently confirmed that their shared podcast and Twitch streaming activities were also suspended indefinitely.

Marbles, who adheres to a vegan lifestyle, became engaged to Solomita in April 2021, and the couple married in November 2022. In January 2023, the pair addressed a home security incident during which an intruder entered their residence and was subdued before being arrested.
