Cristine Rotenberg

Cristine Raquel Rotenberg (born October 17, 1988) is a Canadian beauty content creator, entrepreneur, and former child actress best known by her online alias Simply Nailogical. She achieved international online prominence through her YouTube channel dedicated to intricate nail art, comedic vlogs, and holographic nail designs. Beyond her digital media career, Rotenberg served as a crime statistics analyst for Statistics Canada and launched her own nail polish brand, Holo Taco.

Early Life and Education

Rotenberg was born in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. During her childhood, she worked as a child actress from 1996 to 2001, appearing in numerous television commercials for products such as Furby and Fib Finder, as well as the 2002 film Charms for the Easy Life. She eventually stepped away from acting to focus on her education. Rotenberg attended Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, where she earned a Master of Arts degree in sociology with a concentration in criminology in 2014. Her graduate research focused on inmate self-injury within prison environments.

Career and Content Creation

Rotenberg launched her blog, Simply Nailogical, in early 2014, followed by a YouTube channel of the same name later that year. Her energetic, sarcastic tutorials and distinctive passion for holographic nail polish quickly attracted a global audience. In 2016, she gained widespread internet virality after starting the popular Polish Mountain challenge, applying over 100 coats of nail polish in a single sitting. Alongside her growing online presence, Rotenberg maintained a full-time career as a crime statistics analyst for Statistics Canada. Over time, her online creative output expanded into comedic vlogs, livestreams, and secondary channels.

Entrepreneurship and Personal Life

In July 2019, Rotenberg launched Holo Taco, a specialty nail polish company focusing on high-pigment formulas and holographic effect top coats, which grew into a highly successful direct-to-consumer beauty brand. She also co-hosted the podcast SimplyPodLogical alongside her long-time partner, Ben Mazowita. Rotenberg resides in Ottawa, Ontario, with Mazowita and their cats. Throughout her online career, she has frequently promoted the importance of higher education and has personally funded multiple academic tuition scholarships for her community of followers.
