About Jen Tullock

Jennifer Leigh Tullock is an American actor and writer born on July 4, 1983. She is best known for her television portrayals of Devon Scout-Hale in the Apple TV+ series Severance and Anita St. Pierre in the second season of HBO's Perry Mason.

Raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Tullock spent her childhood in the Jeffersontown and Crescent Hill areas. Her younger brother, Ryan, plays bass as a touring musician for the indie pop group Tennis. Tullock attended the Christian Academy of Louisville before completing her high school education at Eastern High School. She went on to study acting at Millikin University, graduating in 2006 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

After moving to Brooklyn in 2007, Tullock built her career as a theatrical performer and writer. She worked across various mediums, including voice-over work, television commercials, improv, and solo stage shows. Her stage work featured appearances in plays in New York City and Chicago, notably including the world premiere of Frank Winters' On the Head of a Pin at 59E59 Theatres. Additionally, a piece of her work was staged at the New York Stage and Film Powerhouse Theater Training Program in 2010.

Throughout her creative career, Tullock has frequently collaborated on screen and writing projects. Alongside Hannah Pearl Utt, she created the short film Partners, which screened at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, and participated in the 2017 Sundance Screenwriters' Lab. The duo subsequently co-wrote and co-starred in the feature drama Before You Know It, which debuted in the U.S. Dramatic Competition at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, and created the streaming series Disengaged for Super Deluxe. Tullock was also part of the writers' room and cast for the Funny or Die series The Coop, contributed writing to HuffPost's Queer Voices, and created Eggshell in 2020, a mockumentary project using fictional social media videos to satirize suburban white women.

In addition to writing and co-hosting the show The Morning After on the Heritage Radio Network, Tullock is a former Sundance screenwriting fellow and has served as a mentor for the Sundance Feature Film Program committee. In 2024, she premiered her solo show You Shall Inherit the Earth!, directed by Josh Ruben, which drew from her experiences following a stroke. In October 2025, she debuted her off-Broadway solo play Nothing Can Take You from the Hand of God at Playwrights Horizons. Co-written with Frank Winters and directed by Jared Mezzocchi, the multimedia stage production provides a semi-autobiographical story about a lesbian writer returning to her home town in Kentucky to confront her family and evangelical church members.

Tullock's screen performances have earned prominent award nominations. As part of the main cast of Severance, she received a 2022 Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. For her role in Perry Mason, she was nominated for an Astra TV Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Broadcast Network or Cable Drama Series. In her personal life, Tullock is a lesbian. She connected with Marie Ronn in 2022, and after reconnecting at the premiere of Spirited in November of that year, the pair began a relationship. They became engaged in March 2023 and were married at Ludlow House in New York on May 11, 2024.
