Jane De Leon

Jane Florence Benitez de Leon is a Filipino actress and model. Born on November 22, 1998, in San Pedro, Laguna, Philippines, she is the daughter of Maricor Benitez-De Leon and Ruel Florencio de Leon. She grew up with an older brother, as well as four half-siblings from her father's previous relationships. During her youth, she attended Sampaguita Village Elementary School, San Roque Elementary School, and Sampaguita Village National High School. After her family encountered financial difficulties when her father lost his job, she began auditioning for modeling and acting roles, often encouraged by her mother to participate in beauty pageants.

De Leon began competing in pageants and modeling contests in 2013, reaching the semi-finals of Teen Supermodel Philippines. She signed with Glamoure Talent Agency Inc. in 2014, landing her first television commercial for Quake Overload. She was subsequently discovered by talent manager Tyrone Escalante and undertook acting workshops with Star Magic, signing with the agency in 2015. That same year, she made her film debut in an uncredited role in Just The Way You Are, followed by a supporting role in Ex with Benefits.

In 2016, De Leon joined the group GirlTrends on the noontime show It's Showtime and made her television acting debut in an episode of Wansapanataym. She also began making appearances in drama anthologies such as Maalaala Mo Kaya and Ipaglaban Mo!. Following her father's death in 2016, she committed to pursuing entertainment full-time. In 2017, she appeared in the action fantasy series La Luna Sangre and starred in the films The Debutantes and Jose Bartolome: Guro. She went on to earn supporting roles in the drama series Halik in 2018 and the film Walwal.

De Leon achieved a major career breakthrough after being cast as the title character in Mars Ravelo's Darna. Selected unanimously by ABS-CBN executives and director Jerold Tarog in 2019, she initially trained for a film adaptation that was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Before filming the television adaptation, she joined the cast of Ang Probinsyano in 2021 as agent Natalia Mante. Mars Ravelo's Darna premiered in August 2022, earning critical attention for her performance.

In 2023, De Leon starred in the horror film Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme. Her upcoming projects include the film How to Be a Good Wife, reuniting her with co-star Janella Salvador. Over the course of her career, De Leon has won an Ima Wa Ima Asian Film Festival Award and earned nominations for a Metro Manila Film Festival Award and two PMPC Star Awards for Television.

In addition to her acting work, De Leon has participated in charitable initiatives. In 2019, she donated the financial proceeds from her Belo Beauty Special Award at the ABS-CBN Ball to Bantay Bata 163, a child welfare organization. She also attended the Red Charity Gala that same year to support fund-raising efforts for the Philippine Red Cross.
